The game begins with order missions, and sub missions that some of these missions are required to be completed in ordered to continue the process of the game's main story. After the Player have completed the introduction of the game. The story mission are based on War torn city like landscapes, City Harbors, Deserted ancient facilities, and a post apocalyptic deserted city as the game's theme. The game features an Narrator telling the history that depicts Armored core 5's events and how the Player's pilot and his group approach the situation. Gameplay and story is featured differently from all the armored core series. The game sets in a Future Post Apocalypse war, where as the resistance engage in an all out war against the so-called "FATHER" and his Corporation.
